Who
Are We?
Pleasant
View is a non-denominational New Testament congregation, part of a worldwide
movement to restore the essentials of apostolic Christianity. We endeavor to
lead lives of faithfulness and devotion guided by Christ as the divine Son of
God and the Bible as the inspired record of God’s revelation. Pleasant View
has no headquarters or rule from any outside human source. We are locally
self-governing with a staff-led, elder-protected shared leadership.
We
call ourselves Christians. We realize we are not the only Christians but we have
no other name. Our authority is God’s Word.
-
We
ascribe to no man-made creeds.
-
The
Scriptures are our only rule of faith and practice.
-
We
allow liberty in opinion in matters where Scriptural revelation does not
legislate.
-
And
we accept the fullest conformity to the clear and uncontested revelation
of the Word.
Those
who are committed to membership have submitted to the following New Testament
standards.
-
They
have believed in and trusted Jesus Christ for salvation. (Jn 14:6)
-
They
have acknowledged their commitment to Him (Matt 16:16; Rom 10:9).
-
They
have repented of their past sin and rebellion against God and turned to
Him. (Lk 13:3; Acts 2:38)
-
They
have been immersed into Christ (Mark
16:16; Rom 6:3-6; Gal 3:27).
-
They
seek to live a life of Christian steadfastness ( I Cor 15:58).
Our
goal is to be in our time, what Christians in the first century were in faith
and service.
-
Every
first day of the week The Lord’s Supper is made available (Acts 20:7).
-
Our
desire is to: Connect people to God, Connect people to one another and
to Connect people to service.
-
We
are simply a body of believers working to restore the vitality of the
Christian life in our time and culture.
-
We
seek to be a 21st Century church
applying the 1st
Century message of God’s loving in our time and culture.
